UPERDFI Adviser Marcelo M. Casillan, Jr. (ME ’59) honored his late wife, Engr. Ma. Divina Cruz Casillan (BS ChE ’61, MS ChE ’68), by establishing a Professorial Chair in Chemical Engineering in her name. In addition, to celebrate his being part of the Diamond Jubillee Class of 1959, Mar also donated a chair in Mechanical Engineering in his name!
Mar has been a staunch supporter of UPERDFI and UPCOE throughout the years, donating to refurbish two classrooms in Melchor Hall in 2006, then to the UPERDFI Innovation Grants Fund, the SWELL Program, and the Faculty Wellbeing Program. He regularly takes part in UPERDFI meetings.
