The Department of Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series on November 23 featured alumni who are now teaching abroad: Dr. Avelino Arellano (EM ’92) who is now professor in Environmental Science at the University of Arizona USA, and Dr. Jeff Venezuela (MatE ’98), now teaching and doing research in Materials Science at the University of Queensland in Australia. In addition, two MMME professors, Eduardo Magdaluyo and Mark de Leon who were not able to join the November DMMME chair lectures presented their 2020 chair papers to a global audience of DMMME alumni, faculty and students.

The Department of Geodetic Engineering also staged a Lecture on November 25 to disseminate research results to industry. Here, Profs. Rosalie Reyes and Jeark Principe, who were not able to join the October DGE Colloquium, presented their 2020 professorial chair papers.
