UPERDFI signed a Collaborative Agreement with Accenture, Inc. aimed at promoting industry-academe cooperation, supporting startups, and improving innovation and technology transfer. The activities will be undertaken through UPSCALE, the innovation hub of UP Diliman, which UPERDFI partnered with for its innovation initiatives.
Accenture donated PhP 9.2 Million to support UPSCALE startups and activities. In addition to managing the grant fund, UPERDFI will make sure proper support is provided to the fund recipients. It will monitor the activities of these startups and ensure there is proper governance in the administration of the program. A grant turnover ceremony was held last August 24.
The grant will help UPCOE innovation initiatives endorsed by UPERDFI to UPSCALE as part of the Research-to-Market Initiative of UPERDFI’s Innovation Committee. Prior to this, Accenture invested in UPCOE by furbishing the Accenture audio visual room at the Department of Computer Science, establishing the Accenture Professorial Chair and contributing to the UPERDFI Innovation Grants Fund.
