SMHC, through its infrastructure arm, committed to support the SMC Infrastructure Professorial Chair in Transportation Engineering, an annual award of PhP 300,000 for six years, starting AY 2021-22. It will be one of two chairs with this amount, the other being the Alejandro Melchor Professorial Chair.
The SMC Infrastructure Professorial Chair in Transportation Engineering is supported for the purpose of awarding an Engineering Faculty who leads in research and design of solutions/applications in the various aspects of air, water, sea and land transportation for public service. The interlinked physical networks that enable efficient movement of people and goods is a key element that drives SMC Infrastructure to achieve its overarching purpose.
