Fluor Daniel Inc. – Philippines, through its Global University Sponsorship Program, reinvigorated ties with the UP College of Engineering by donating funds for the use of the Department of Chemical Engineering and for the Institute of Civil Engineering.
Part of the fund will be used to purchase a five-year license of AspenONE for the Fluor Process Simulation and Plant Design (PSPD) Lab. The software is a process simulator package that can visualize, monitor and assess plant operations, which faculty and students can use to enhance their R&D capability.
A larger portion of the donation will be for equipping the Institute of Civil Engineering’s Structural Engineering Laboratory.
In 2014-15, Fluor donated to fit out the PSPD Lab and provided annual licensing funds and equipment maintenance. They also furbished the Fluor Lecture Room at DMMME.
