During the February 17, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting, UP Chemical Engineering alumni Denis Carpio (ChE ‘65) and UPERDFI Chairman Alex Sy (ChE, EE ‘71) took on the challenge of completing the funding requirement for the high performance computing project. With this, UPERDFI can secure matching funds from the Friends of UP Foundation in America and UP Foundation. The PhP 20 Million will be used to purchase the first 1,120 cores for the HPC facility for the UP College of Engineering.
