The UP Alumni Engineers (UPAE) conducts an annual nomination and recognition of engineering professionals and leaders in government, industry and academe. For 2022, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Deputy Governor and UPERDFI Member Mamerto “Mert” Tangonan, CE ’84, will receive the Most Distinguished Alumnus Award for his work in ushering the digital transformation of the country’s financial services.
Other UPERDFI Members being recognized by UPAE and their awards are:
- Dante M. Abando, CE ’86 – Lifetime Achievement Award
- Raymund P. Ilustre, IE ’78 – National Achievement Award in Corporate Governance
- Emmanuel U. Pornillos, MetE ’65 – Global Achievement Award in Tailings Technology
- Rowena Torres-Ordoñez, ChE ’78 – Global Achievement Award in Energy Engineering
UPERDFI congratulates all the 2022 UPAE Distinguished Alumni Awardees. The awarding ceremony will be held during the 2022 UPAE @75 Homecoming on November 19, Saturday, 6pm at the WackWack Golf & Country Club Pavilion Hall.
