Dean Tonette Tanchuling hosted a meet-and-greet session on December 13, 2022 with Huawei Technologies Philippines executives and the 2022-23 scholars at the Melchor Hall Faculty Lounge. The Huawei team included Peter Zhang (HR Director); Derrick Gan (HR Manager); Karrie Buenafe (Sr. Manager for Public Affairs); and Khairyl Serrano (HR Associate).
This is the third year of the Huawei Program with UPCOE. For this year, the beneficiaries are continuing scholar Martina Meg Bayani (BS Computer Engineering) and two new ones, Han Espinosa (BS Electronics Engineering), and Dominic Mondia (BS Electrical Engineering). The three are expected to graduate this AY 2022-23.
The short programme included remarks from Peter, Dean Tonette, UPERDFI President Chicho and ED Tito, and from the three scholars. To cap, UPERDFI presented the UPERDFI Golden Anniversary Artwork Token to Huawei, being one of UPCOE’s significant donors.
The late-morning meeting ended with lunch, courtesy of Huawei.
