Vancouver-based Evelyn Mayuga and husband Henry hosted their seven scholars in UP Diliman for dinner on November 25, 2023. They sponsor six scholars in the UP College of Architecture, and one of the six Engineering scholars of UPAA British Columbia.
An Architect and Urban Planner, Henry operates the HBMayuga and Associates design and planning firm, with offices in Vancouver and Manila. Henry and Evelyn invited ED Tito Aliga for the event.
Says Evelyn: “it was a great meet and greet event for all of us. It was a pleasure sharing some words of wisdom from the elders (that includes you, Tito!) to future leaders and entrepreneurs who will lead the country to new heights. We hope that whatever we had imparted to them will be taken to heart and will serve to guide them in their critical decisions and future career pursuit.”
Henry enumerated several Philippine projects he is involved with and the challenges he overcame. Recent ones include the preliminary design of the 32-km Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge across Manila Bay, and the redevelopment of some iconic structures in Bataan, and soon, in Tarlac.
