Within the ambit of the Meralco MBrace Program, One Meralco Foundation hosted the annual gathering of participating schools and scholars in the MPowHer Scholarship Program on March 22, 2024 at the Meralco Lighthouse. UP Diliman Engineering coordinator, EEEI Professor Dr. Jaybie de Guzman and UPERDFI ED Tito Aliga led five BS Electrical Engineering scholars in the MPowHer Program that started in AY 2022-23, comprising 3 Seniors and 2 Juniors in the celebration.

OMF President Jeff Tarayao and Meralco sponsoring executives Egay Carasig and Malou Alvendia provided inspirational messages. Program head Ralph Placido explained the achievements of MBrace, which is Meralco’s vehicle in its journey towards having 30% of its workforce being women by the year 2028, from the present 22%. MPowHer Scholarships focus on preparing women for line/operative positions, thus the schools engaged are in the engineering and technician domains.

OMF will continue to offer slots to female BSEE majors in UP Diliman Engineering.
