Former COMELEC Commissioner and BS Mechanical Engineering Class 61 alumnus Augusto “Gus” Lagman established the Augusto and Teresita Lagman Scholarships in Engineering. Starting this AY 2024-25, the scholarships will support four incoming freshmen coming from low-income families for four years, until their graduation. The donation handover was held on July 1, 2024 at the Gimenez Gallery in UP Diliman during the Opening of the Ricalde Exhibit.
Gus has been actively contributing to the faculty and infrastructure development programs for the UP College of Engineering. In 2021, he donated significant funding to set up the Computing Facility, and also established the Lagman Family Professorial Chair.
