The UP College of Engineering (UPCOE), in collaboration with the UP Engineering Research and Development Foundation, Inc. (UPERDFI) and the National Engineering Center (NEC), held the annual Professorial Chair Colloquium on November 25, 2024 at the Institute of Civil Engineering Building to honor 138 qualified faculty members for their outstanding contributions to teaching, research, and innovation.
Since its establishment in the mid-1970s, the Professorial Chair Awards have been given 2,800 times for deserving Assistant, Associate and Full Professors. The event featured presentations and dialogues with attendees from government, industry, academe and civil society.
The colloquium was followed by a Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by UP President Angelo Jimenez at the Executive House. President Jijil welcomed the donors, internship partners and COE faculty to the event, thanking them for their contributions to advancing engineering education and research in UP and in the country.
UPERDFI Chairman Noly Torres, Vice President Ricky Peña, past President Chicho Mantaring and DED Norika Ishikawa, together with UPAE President and UPERDFI Trustee Rel Gomez joined the event.
