UPERDFI Member Jerome H. Cainglet, ChE ‘89 established the Jerome and Mary Iralyn Cainglet Professorial Chair in Chemical Engineering. Jerome currently serves as the Vice President for Business Development and Head of Gas Business Unit at the First Gen Corporation, one of the leading providers of clean and renewable power in the Philippines. The chair will be awarded to a qualified professor for commendable research on materials science, environmental engineering and energy engineering with direct impact on helping save the planet and making communities more sustainable.
Jerome and his wife Mary have been actively supporting the initiatives of the UP College of Engineering, by providing thesis support grants for graduating students and donating to the Covid-19 response project. Jerome was a member of the Technical Advisory Panel for our Energy System Modelling Project.
