Leaders of the DM Consunji Group of Companies Ms. Jing Consunji Reyes, Ms. Dinky Consunji Laperal and Mr. Migi Laperal discussed with UPERDFI and the UP College of Engineering to organize an event that will showcase the research of the various Engineering Professorial Chair Awards sponsored by DM Consunji Companies. COE Dean Tonette Tanchuling, Associate Dean Eric Tingatinga, UPERDFI Vice President Lito Bermudo and ED Tito Aliga joined the April 25, 2024 meeting.
The event aims to provide a platform for sharing research, enhancing industry connections, and promoting knowledge exchange. The DM Consunji Companies established and or are co-donors to a total of 21 Professorial Chair Awards in Engineering, composed of:
2 DMCI Holdings Chairs
3 DMCI Project Developers Inc. Chairs
6 Semirara Mining and Power Corporation Chairs
5 Maynilad Water Services, Inc. Chairs
5 Chairs in collaboration with other donors
Post-event, the focus will shift to the practical implementation of research findings. This involves transitioning from laboratory research to market-ready solutions, leveraging industry insights to guide future research, and encouraging the establishment of more professorial chairs to sustain the momentum of innovation and collaboration.
The event is part of the celebration of the 70th year founding anniversary of DM Consunji Construction, which was set up in 1954 by Engr. David M. Consunji, a founding incorporator of UPERDFI.
