Ms. Angelina (Jean) Maniquis Ople, widow of Felicisimo S. Ople, Jr. and their children Mark, Eric and PJ, signed the Deed of Donation for the establishment of the Felicisimo V. Ople (CE 1928) and Felicisimo S. Ople, Jr. (CE 1958) Professorial Chair in Engineering. Fel Jr., BSCE magna cum laude, started practicing his profession here in the Philippines, and then moved to California. He was a DOST Balik Scientist, and set up renewable energy projects here in the Philippines. He died in 2023. The chair, which will be part of the 2024-25 Engineering Professorial Chair Awards Roster, is meant for renewable energy – civil engineering.
